Terminasion in present

Conjugation in present tense terminated by –nuhunchhā (नुहुन्छ):

During the previous lessons, we learned that the Nepali language has four levels of politeness (of which three are generally used). The termination –nuhunchhā is a correspondent of the third and fourth level of politeness. Thus, it can be used with the pronouns “tāpaï - तपार्इ, hājur - हजुर, wāhã - वहाँ, tāpaïhāru - तपार्इहरू, hājurhāru - हजुरहरू and wāhãhāru - वहाँहरू .”

a) tāpaï mustaang-maa bāsnuhunchhā.

You live in Mustang. तपार्इ मुस्ताङमा बस्नुहुन्छ ।

b) wāhã yāhã bāsnuhunchhā.

She/He lives here. वहाँ यहाँ बस्नुहुन्छ ।

c) wāhãhāru hārek din daalbaat khaanuhunchhā.

They eat daalbaat every day. वहाँहरू हरेक दिन दालभात खानुहुन्छ ।

d) hājur raamro sāngā sutnuhunchhā.

You sleep very well. हजुर राम्रोसगँ सुत्नुहुन्छ ।

e) haamro saathi-hāru bholi london tirā jaanuhunchhā.

Our friends go to London tomorrow. हाम्रो साथीहरू भोली लण्डनतिर जानुहुन्छ ।

f) tāpaï yāhã ke gārnuhunchhā?

What do you do here? तपार्इ यहाँ के गर्नुहुन्छ ?

g) mero dai biswā bidhyalaya-maa kaam gārnuhunchhā.

My biggest brother works at the university. मेरो दार्इ विश्वविधालयमा काम गर्नुहुन्छ ।

h) hājur hārek din āngreji bhaasaa siknuhunchhā.

You learn English every day. हजुर हरेक दिन अंग्रेजी भाषा सिक्नुहुन्छ ।

i) vānessa raamro nepaali bolnuhunchhā.

Vanessa speaks Nepali well. भेनेसा राम्रो नेपाली बोल्नुहुन्छ ।

j) mero srimāti dherai bolnuhunchhā.

My wife talks a lot. मेरो श्रीमती धेरै बोल्नुहुन्छ ।

k) wāhã le saat-oTaa bhaasaa hāru sikaunuhunchhā.

He/She instructs/teaches seven languages. वहाँले सातवटा भाषाहरू सिकाउनुहुन्छ ।

l) bholi bishnu kaaThmānDu-bata aaunuhunchhā.

Bishnu (will) come from Kathmandu tomorrow. भोली विष्णु काठमाण्डौंवाट आउनुहुन्छ ।
